I watched it for the first time today, and it didn't feel entertaining

After watching lots of films with twists, Identity seemed lame to me. There were lots of much better films made with surprising endings to this day. Sorry Mr Mangold, you couldn't pull it off

I don't know if you're being serious or a troll.. either way, this filmed paved the way to twist endings.. you can't watch a great movie that was ahead of its time, 13 years ya goon..

13 years later*

well, it didn't impress me. it wasnt that shocking or exciting. they revealed the truth too early, as somebody else stated on this board. why should i care what happens next in the last 30 minutes after I learned that actually it was all in his head? the story wasnt interesting nor mysterious, ok?

reply

..... because there is a twist right at the end 🤔

The quality of, or lack thereof aside, this movie absolutely did NOT pave the way for twist endings. If any movie would get that honor, it would be "The Sixth Sense" four years earlier.

Putting aside the paving question, this was a really cool movie.

Real Talk. This is an okay movie (in my opinion) but i get what you're saying about it not being entertaining, 80% of films (even the ones with twists) are not even entertaining, us hardcore movie buffs end up being selective because we've already seen thousands of different plot-twists in all different ways and scenarios, there needs to be more originality in film, everything is too similar nowadays.

I gotta disagree, I’ve always enjoyed it a lot. Found it pretty suspenseful with good acting all around.
