I can't believe how much notoriety this game has gotten. It has got to be one of the most overrated POS i've ever seen in my entire life. I played it after my friends told me how 'cool' it was. I used to like it, but after hearing how everyone says it's the best game ever when it's clearly far from it has caused me to hate it with every fiber of my being.

The storyline is nonexistent (if there IS a storyline it isn't told very well since every level is the same damn thing) all you do is shoot aliens, and on the multiplayer (which is the only reason it is so popular) guess what you do?
SHOOT EACH OTHER!!!!! WHOOPEE!!!!!!

Thank god after the 3rd atrocity in this god awful series it will be over. Oh yeah I forgot about Halo Wars *shudder*

While I may agree that it's quite overrated, I think you should point the finger more so at Final Fantasy.

admittedly, the FF series was great, but the fans acted like it was the second coming of jesus christ(relatively speaking).

Thing is, just ignore the radicals who overhype the game. I hate them as well, but I'm trying to get halo 2 for my PC, since I'm naturally curious as to how this all ends.

I think it's a cool game too, but I also agree that it's over-rated. All FPS's are repetative, but Halo has some pretty unique gameplay that's what makes it fun, and as far as Consoles go, it is one of the best FPS's out there, especially for online play. I like Chronicles of Riddick, and the Tom Clancy Franchises more by quite a bit. I haven't played Halo in several months, I'm not bored of it, but I find more fun replaying some of my other games. And yes, some people like Halo too much, like it's the God of all videogames.

true. if the would just treat the game normally, it would increase it's appeal.

most people I have interviewed say that they don't want to even touch halo merely cause the shouting and screaming fans make them thinked that it's overhyped, and that they are just doing that to compensate for the game's shortcomings.

I'd like to see how halo wars turns out though. if it can truly bring a lot of new things to RTS games, without just trying to ride on halo's fame, then I'd most likely buy it.

i think its the best ever, but i dont worship it. its fun in every aspect, but i only play it when my friends are over. there are some people that think its the best game but dont go like HALO IS CHRIST.

Halo is over rated and final fantasy come on on youtube everysong is a fan video of final fantasy I played it it was okay but really I agree the final fantasy is the most overrated game of all time.

Grand Theft Auto series is also over-rated, how many of you play that game after you beat all the missions or get 100%, it's dumb once you finish it becomes it's pretty much just a driving game on steroids. Cool game for story and missions, boring once you complete it.

Halo isn't the most over-rated game of all time and saying that the plot is non-existent is just stupid. If you took the time to understand the game you'd realize that you are wrong. Have you ever read any of the Halo books or even the section in the Halo manual that gives you insight in to the Halo storyline?

Things I hate about Halo.

1. It's fanbase who treat it like the second coming of Jesus and also think it invented EVERYTHING and thus, EVERYTHING is a rip off of it. I guess to them, Halo invented oxygen as well, -so let's all bow down to Halo and make sacrifices for it for giving us the stuff our lungs need to keep up functioning. All hail Halo!!!! /extreme sarcasm-

2. It's non fan base who refuse to touch it BECAUSE of it's overhype. I just don't get that. Yes, over hype is annoying, but if you're hating the game because of it, then you're not focusing your hate on the right object. Hate the people. Play the game, decide for yourself if it's good or not and don't let other people's opinions affect whether or not you enjoy it. This includes both negative and positive opinions. And I can't stress enough, don't pass off the game because of it's hype. To me, that's being just as low as them.

Hell, I have a friend who after playing a bit of Reach and hearing all the hype, hates it. I'm still not entirely sure why, but he said something about it not feeling like Halo. I just don't get that. Based on what I've seen, it's almost like an upgraded Combat Evolved, which he LOVES. I can respect his opinion, but the part about not liking it partially due to the hype dumbfounds me.

3. The noobs.. nuff said. (Though not to be confused with those who are new to Halo and still learning the ropes, I mean the absolutely a$$ holes, dumb a$$s and a$$ clowns. There, I just made $6 off of all the back end related people in the noob population.)

Yeah halo is terribly overrated. Their fans act like Master Chief is some sort of unbeatable god yet all he pretty much is is an updated version of Doom Guy from Doom.

While I do think this game is overrated, I don't think it's anything on Red Dead Redemption.
