I think the franchise started to decline after this one...

For the genre, I'd call the first one and this one great.

I'd call the 3rd good...and it does get bonus points for the particularly awesome DVD 'choose their fate' feature.

But after that, the franchise seriously started to slip into 'not good' territory.

Uhh Final Destination 5 is probably the best since the original.

You want to know a decline?
FD2 declined fast after the first 30 mins.

Sorry this is kind of late, but just finished watching the series again. My order is 5, 3, 1, 2, 4. I think the series has had its ups and downs but I don't think it really ever went into Freddy or Jason territory. Part 4 was the only one I would consider weak, but it's still not horrible

reply

I agree. Parts 1 & 2 are BY FAR the greatest films in the series

reply

5 is just as good as 2.

There's only one poor film in the franchise and thats number 4 probably due to the fact 3d was new at the time and they tryed to use that in every death was lame. This my Order of best to worst:
Final destination 2
Final destination 5
Final destination 3
Final destination
Final destination 4 (crap)

Has there been any update on a potential 6th movie?

reply

Yes. 1 and 2 are the best. It turned into a childish gore fest with no story, after that. Like the SAW series. Which is why most kids like part 5.

I think that Part 3 is overrated. The thing that I liked about Part 2, even maybe over Part 1, is the team chemistry aspect where the group of survivors worked together to fight Death. The main 2 characters of Part 3 were certainly rootable, but I felt that it came across too much like a teen slasher flick rather than a true FD movie.

reply

Nah', the franchise inclined after this one. 3 is the peak.
