911 call (spoiler)

Didn't they say the caller sounded latino? Sure didn't sound like that to me. Of course, by the time they played the tape I already suspected Buddy, so I listened to see if it was Jeff Daniels. It certainly sounded like him, but more like a badly faked irish accent, or something like that, than any hispanic accent. Maybe I listened too closely. What did everyone else hear?
