Riddled with Plot Holes

This film had so many that it was ridiculous!

And why dont you share them all with us?

Quite frankly it would take too long! How about the serial killer and his modus operandi for starters?

What an amazingly useful post. Well done OP.

...and what he calls "plot holes" are most likely not plot holes.

There is one that bothered me. Spoiler alert, btw...

...the day McCaleb shoots up his stalker's car while at the grocery store, Buddy is supposed to be babysitting Ramon. When he returns to the marina, Buddy says he's needing to be compensated for seven hours of babysitting, but they went fishing, and the kid calmy corroborates that story later on when Buddy is not around to intimidate him. The stalker is Buddy. This is a bit of a problem for me, but I still thought this was an above average procedural...though I felt it was Buddy since his introduction.

This film was obvious but that wasn't a plot hole. The boy clearly states that Buddy had to leave to get more bait.

How about this one?
When McCaleb finally confronts Buddy, it started out as just handing him the check he owed. He still didn't have a clue and Buddy didn't know either, how did Buddy know to have Graciella and the kid locked up as a bargaining chip for that very moment?

Thats exactly what we said...if Buddy wanted to resume the game of cat and mouse with McCaleb why kidnap the woman and the boy and reveal his identity when he didn't know that McCaleb was on to him

And I'm still not quite sure how McCaleb realized it was him

Buddy said he knew his plan was working after McCaleb admitted feeling 'connected' again. I assumed he decided to take it to the next level after that, once he felt convinced that McCaleb figured out the motive. There is a logic to it, but it's just not very well presented.

To answer how Mcaleb solved the case, after hearing the Code Killer used "no 1" in the coded clues, which was echoed by the boy, he then saw the Buddy's name spelled out on the check "Buddy Noone = No/one" and he connected that to the guy at the ATM and put it all together. After confronting him, he asked to see his back, and apparently saw the GSW from their encounter 2 years prior, verifying to McCaleb that Buddy is indeed the Code Killer that he once shot. Again poorly presented, because I only saw a mole, no obvious gunshot wound that would've resulted from a powerful .357 Magnum.
