Am I A Wannabe?

I loved this film, and have read and watched many books n films involving Native Americans, I am about 2/3 through Seven Arrows, and just finished this film. There are quite a few similar type stories, and I find them very much a teaching although the many layers are so thought provoking. Other film/documentaries I have enjoyed are 500 Nations, and We Shall Remain. I am not seeking a "name" only attempting to understand the history I was not taught in school, or anywhere else. Films and doc's like this are so eye opening. I wonder what should be expected of us living today?

Understanding and learning is the major part of any battle.

Taking only what you need, using all you take, and giving back all you can.

Research Pine Ridge Reservation. The scenes in the movie are not made up, they are the rez. Its really that bad there. Learn about the treaties that were made, then broken.

Educate others, help all you can, learn all you can.

Thats my humble opinion....

So I wouldn't say you are a wannabe, I would say you are curious and open-minded. If people call you names for wanting to learn about another culture, than they are being close minded and letting their own anger cloud their judgment simply because of your skin color. Be respectful of yourself and others is my best advice, and learn as much as you can about others and your own background.

To the poster above, very nice remark. :)
