Enjoyable movie, but a bit of a Dee Snider stroke-fest

It's a made-for-TV movie from ten years ago, so it can only be so good. Having said that, it was an entertaining take on the PMRC hearing.

My main criticism is that they really bent over backwards to promote Dee Snider as the hero of the story. His speech to the committee threw in a little phrase he didn't actually use in his testimony (after noting how many of the PMRC representatives have husbands on the Senate committee, he quips "funny how that worked out", though he never actually said that). His entrance to give his speech was far more full of swagger and crowd cheering than it was in reality. And it's pointed out at least once that he was the only one of the musicians on the "Filthy Fifteen" who had the balls to show up.

Probably they had to, because he was playing himself, but still...

And probably because he was the only musician who was at the hearing who was still alive TO play himself so let's focus more on the real McCoy.
