Can someone explain the fish trap.
I assume the lake was freshwater, and yet it seemed to be tidal?
It was shaped in a spiral - the fish would swim in during the hide tide - not be able to find the way out in time for her to close the gate and then the tide would go back out - voila! Fresh fish.
