No Music!?!

I watched the movie last night, and liked it exceedingly. already recommended it to my friends.
it is very slow but one just savours every second to take in all the details of landscape and people's actions. and on top of this, it makes you laugh from time to time :o)
I cant believe that there is no music in it! this I only found out when reading the one users comment just now. is this really true? usually it is the interplay of pictures and sound that moves me to tears (easily) in movies.
you know any other movies that have no soundtrack as such?

Dear , watch Dogma-style movies and you will not be surprised :)

I have.
"Festen" and "Italiensk for begyndere" (is 2nd one Dogma?)
but just never noticed the absence of music...
(both I found very moving!)

was a good hint. thanks.
just searched for "Dogme" and found a whole list with more than 30 films. most of them Danish but also from other parts of the world.
I've got a new DVD-player, so it should be interesting to try to get hold of some of them...

yes "italian for beginners" is for Dogma , also don't miss "Jean-Pierre & luc Dardenne"
films , they also make similar things such as "le fils" and "rosetta" .

There was music...it was subtle, and beautiful...it was the same haunting melody in the background, mostly played late in the movie...I would love to have just a CD of that melody....but it isn't listed, unfortunately...

There was music, however not very much. There is something in the beginning and in the end, and... if I remember... something in the middle. There was a man singing joik, that is a traditional sami singing style.
However, it was very low and subtle.

There was very subtle music ... and natural sounds were used very much like music. The sound Director did a masterful job in this film. I have always felt that the music you do not notice is often the very best!
