I liked the movie

I've been reading a few posts and I guess some people didn't really like it, but ya. I went in not expecting it to be like shrek or anything but I found it to be quite good. I mean what movie isn't good that shows us that we don't need prince charming to be happy, our own princes may be right in front of us just without the title of prince. Well I just wanted to say I liked it and found it enjoyable but it might not be a movie for everyone.

Yay. you make me happy

No, obviously it's not a movie for everyone. it's a movie for people who don't go in with these high standards of what funny is, of what good is, and thinking it has to top a generation classic like Shrek and New Groove.

I also liked it quite a bit, and so did my nieces. Is it a classic that will be loved by generations? Heck no! Is it a pleasant enough diversion for an hour and a half? Sure!

Sheesh, it's as if people expect ALL movies to be life-changing, mind-expanding experiences nowadays! Lighten up. It's just entertainment, folks!

It was'nt as bad as I had expected. I was entertained, and I loved the design of the movie. Good job to those involved in creating it. Not a classic, but not bad.

I found it quite entertaining. I mean, I didn't try to have high standards. It was funny, and cute. I liked it.

i liked it quite alot and (im going to be flamed for this) i thought it was better than shrek, at least the second one anyway

I'm sorry, I'm usually the protector of all movies (you can see me on most movie boards defending the movie's honor) but this one doesn't deserve my protection. Have it at it my trolls...I can honestly say I don't care. Unless, of course, Patrick Warburton is insulted. Then you have crossed a line.

Seriously, though, I usually come to movies with an open mind and it doesn't take much to entertain me. When I'm told the movie is going to be epic, I go in expecting an epic movie, when I'm told the movie's a silly kid's movie, I go in expecting a sill kid's movie. But all the jokes were dry and it was just really boring, honestly. I didn't care about any of the characters, I thought the design was horrible (I mean really, could they have made the step-mother look any more like a hooker?) and it was just a mess. None of their actions made sense...the whole story was just a waste.

Much love and BIG KISSES,
Steph

because i've already responded to your comments elsewhere, and because you're asuming people are going to get mad at you, i have nothing to say but- i'm sorry you didn't enjoy it

i agree, i people do seem to think everything will be epic, i'm seeing that alot lately. it was just good entertainment. Sometimes it's nice to like something that does't have a lot of hype and attention. i think it even makes me like it more =]

Me, I found it a worth-while movie -- there are some very funny scenes, especially with the dwarfs.

Some have complained that it's a rip-off of Shrek -- so what? Both take traditional fairy tales and twist them. Has anybody ever read these sacrosanct fairy tales in their original form? Nothing like what Disney gave us, that's for sure.

i agree with laybugg89 its a great movie for me because even simple movies i like an i liked the charactors! And its not true that the jokes are ry i like most of them.I think that it shoul be realeased in england so they can have there say!

I pretty much have to agree with Ladybug89 on this one--it isn't groundbreaking like some movies, but I didn't come for that (unlike the rest of my family). I just wanted to see an animated movie that I'd be interested in, and what I got was a pretty da**-good one!

But in the case of whether Rick really deserves Ella after she goes all "the Prince will save me"... I'm kinda on the line. On one hand, I liked the twist their marriage provided for the movie, but on the other, I'm (as strange as I am with character pairings) more of a Mambo/Ella type. And also in the case of the "dragged-on" scenes, I'd unfortunately have to agree a bit on that as well. And there aren't A LOT of good jokes in it, but quite a few made me chuckle more than it did in the trailers (what has to be my number-one reason to dislike movie trailers, especially for comedies). And most of the music--if there honestly was any besides "The Monster Mash"--I never paid attention to, for I was too hooked on the plot.

But besides that, I'm perfectly fine with HN'EA as it is, though it could stand a bit of a script change. ;)

My mother I and my 10 year old sister went to see it. we found it funny. I guess it was not the best movie but it was not so terrible that I wanted my five bucks back.

reply

Definantly agreed. It's one of thoes movies you'll most likely watch once. I liked it, but not so much as other high animated things (Shrek, Nemo ect.)

The storyline was pretty good, too. It was well panned out.
All in all, better than Sharkbait. :)

I liked it too.

If you're entertained by loud noises, bright lights, and motion I can understand your enjoyment of this film. This movie pretty much sets the bar for terrible though. It didn't have a single funny joke in the entire movie, it was hideous to look at, the sound was terrible, it honestly had no redeemable qualities entertainment wise.

Maybe if a parent is used to watching really really really bad straight to video cartoons with their kids that would boost their opinion of this but you have to set the bar loooooooooooooow.
