I avoided this movie in theatres because of the dismal reviews but since it just came out on DVD I decided to check it out. I thought it was good. I don't even like this type of film most of the time and only checked it out for the actors. I thought it was funny and cute and pretty much all that you can expect from this genre.
So this is a thread for all the people that think the same way and wonder how the heck it got a 2/10.
Exactly, Tam! Which is why I decided to stay away from the movie ratings on IMDB before I decide to watch the movie for myself. I thought Little Man was enjoyable but so many people on here hated it and I still can't see why. It was silly cartoonish type humor I thought was relaxing to watch. Same with this movie.
And I didn't rent it for the actors but I thought it was funny even with the low ratings it got at the time it came out in the theatre. That whole "Rolly polly rolly olly" really got to me. :D
Hey did anyone go to Best Buy and bought the special edition Happily N'Ever After with the music CD in it? If you did please upload the songs as Mp3s so we can listen to them please.
Tell me your joking? You people LIKED this movie? It was the worst thing I've ever seen. AWFUL. Please let me know exactly which parts you thought were "good"???? PLEASE!
I was depressed after watching this. I can't believe someone made this...then watched it and actually put it OUT.
I must say. I was glad for the rumplestiltskin parts...they were cute
but like three parts where he rocks a baby ISN'T WOTHING WATCHING!
I was very excited for the release of this DVD because the previews looked hillarious...however, the Hillarious parts on the preview were pretty much the only funny parts in the movie. If it weren't for Patrick Warburton I would have turned this movie off within the first 15 minutes.
I just watched it and I thought it was cute! I laughed, and as for the reviewer who said you could see the ending coming a mile away, ITS A FREAKING FAIRY TALE!!!!!!!!!!!! You can always see the ending coming... oh well, some people expect so much from a childrens movie
Hey, I'm Mr. old fart cynical but I enjoyed it. I think people are overwhelmed with animated films and for some reason they decided to hate this one.
I think it was meant to be cynical and bitter, so if you are that way, I could see why you enjoyed it. I had seen Tangled before it, and was getting frustrated myself about pretty blonde princess and the hot bad boy being tamed by love and falling for her. I was kind of bitter, and watched this and loved it!!
The first 1/3 of it was okay. I thought I would like it, but it just went completely downhill. The song in the middle where they're all like "I dunno what I want", or whatever the hell it was, gave me goosebumps because it was so horrid. There were a few slightly funny parts, but nothing too funny. I gave it a 4/10.
I liked it well enough. It wasn't quite as coherently funny and compelling as some of the other similar movies (The second installment of "Shrek", or the much-overlooked "Hoodwinked"), but it was an amusing enough diversion.
For me, there were enough in-jokes to keep it interesting... homages to, or thefts from, other movies - like the Pod-Racer-ish sounds as the 'broomstick' runs out of fuel, or the "Labyrinth" visual reference in the "get what she wants" song. I think this is one of those films where you get out what you put in. If you make no effort to connect, it's just eye candy.
