it says that darkness falls was released jan. 24, 2003...and this movie fear of the dark was released in 2003. it's possible that they were both filmed at the same time...i've seen it happen before...2 movies both with the same idea...filmed and released at almost the same time...it does happen.
shareI actually just got to see the movie and it wasn't as scary as I thought it was going to be but it is still a really good movie and Kevin looked really hot in it.

Well, I will agree that it's not the masterpiece that the Resident Evil films are. Gotta looooove those movies based off of videogames!
And, honestly, I really wish it 'tired' to be more tense too.

I don't think so, but I can't say for sure.
Since I'm posting, I might as well mention how much I like the idea of putting this movie's impetus squarely on the shoulders of the younger brother. Wes Craven presents "They" and Darkness Falls both deal with similar night terrors, but their main characters have grown up. I think this type of film benefits from the lack of options a ten-year-old has available to him.
Nah. No theatrical release. This went direct to DVD. It would've been tough to get theatrical distribution for such a low-budget film.
