Any similar movies such as Fear of the Dark out there?

Well, regardless if you thought this movie was a GREAT horror movie you have to give it credit. For the budget the director and production crew did a fabulous job by creating an atmosphere that was taught and scary. I think if you were ever scared of the dark this movie worked for you. It proves that you do not need tons of blood, gore, nudity, and cursing to make a good horror movie. Ok, let me get off my soapbox now, so my question to all of you is are there any horror movies of this type that can genuinely scare you without have to pile on the stuff mentioned before? I teach high school and we need scary movies like this to watch that's not going to break any district rules yet is an enjoyable and scary little picture. So if you guys have any recommendations let me know I would love to hear from you.

Three movies off the top of my head;
"The Lost Boys", 1987. Directed by Joel Schumacher, with an astonishingly beautiful & seductive Kiefer Sutherland as vampire. Not very gory, despite the premises (smalltown vampires) and could probably be used to discuss peer pressure... ;0)
("The Lost Boys" is a small gem, that deserves to be seen more often and by a new generation.)

"The Frighterners", 1996. Directed by "Lord Peter Jackson of The Rings" with Michael J. Fox as a real psychic pretending to be a hack psychic. Pretty scary (and funny too), but nothing seriously disgusting. Suprisingly dark though.

"The Craft", 1996. Directed by Andrew Flemming, with a ferocious Fairua Balk as the ultimate Teenage Witch. Another little gem sparkling with teen angst.

As you can se from these three titles, I have gone back in time a bit.
Perhaps we (I know I was) were a tiny bit more innocent before "Saw 5"...
