Incorrect character

Brett Kelly's characters name was actually Thurman Merman. He was just referred to as "the kid"

You must have dozed off, or more likely were fiddling with your smartphone instead of paying attention.

There was a scene at the end where his name "Thurman Merman" was clearly shown on a document and when Thornton sees it he just shakes his head sadly, thinking the kid was given a raw deal.

Im not sure if your replying to me but the document was his report card from school. and in the upcoming Bad Santa 2 in a trailer he introduces himself as Thurman Merman. Its your first line that is confusing to me.

London: *you* get off the phone. OP's question, while trivial, makes sense. In the credits he's referred to as The Kid.

Please nest your IMDB page, and respond to the correct person -

You need to be so rude? I guess you didn`t understood what Jwinningtonfett said. Check out the credits and see what name appears under Brett Kelly`s character. Is The kid, not Thurman Merman, even though during the movie we eventually find what his name is, so why The kid?
Jwinningtonfett is right and you guys are wrong. Before start throwing names and offending, maybe you should make sure your brains are capable to process some words.

Sue's not named either much, not exactly sure where in the bar it's said..but everyone recognises Lauren Graham....

"And that's SHOWBIZ--kid."-Roxie Hart.
PROFILE PIC:Courtney Thorne-Smith.
MAGIC=Sarah Silverman.

PS But the credits with the shot of the characters DO identify her as Sue before the scrolling of credits afterwards!

^ This required a post on IMDB? Are you his agent? Did this lack of information detract from the movie?

His character might have been referred to as "the kid" in the credits or IMDB cast list because for most of the movie Willie only calls him "kid," never even bothering to ask him his name.

Willie and we the audience learn the boy's name is Thurman Merman well after his character is introduced and, since this revelation is humorous, it makes sense to leave his character's name unmentioned in the cast/character list. That way the joke isn't spoiled for people on the site who haven't actually seen the movie yet.

Same isuse with Sue actually the Bartender, Lauren Graham.

A much earlier classic Christmas special, FROSTY THE SNOWMAN, 1969, had the same thing. Billy De Wolfe is the deliciously nasty Professor Hinkle, but on the credits, he's always "The Magician". Mirimax could tae a leson, Lauren Graham is the Bartender to those who watch..
