Only one of those movies is funnier than Bad Santa. My lone criterion for judging funny movies - lmao from beginning to end.

And Men in Black? Really???

reply

The Big Lebowski is the funniest movie ever made.

BS is up there though

LOL @ Men in Black

The coen bros produced this movie,so I would say they had a deep understanding and appreciation of this movie as well.

reply

I think the OP's grammar is the funniest thing ever.

After that, any of Cheech & Chong's movies, or Airplane. Or come to think of it, Blazing Saddles.

Lebowski really isn't THAT funny.

i just now got around to reading these pathetic reply posts. do you really think i give a damn about grammer? its funny as hell to hear dickheads come on these boards to give their two cents and spellcheck advice. its ppl like that that make me want to hurt someone. all i did was give an opinion f%+kheads. weak ass generation.

Who said anything about slicing you up,man? I just wanted to carve a little z on your forehead.

"... dickheads come on these boards to give their two cents and spellcheck advice. its ppl like that that make me want to hurt someone..."

Wow - every movie you mentioned is pretty much "The Naked Gun" quality. Wow... Great comparisons.

Actually, I apologize for the last post. Do you think anyone who comes to this country to succeed gives a crap what you think about them Anglicizing? They do it because they can realize the American Dream of starting their own business, being the master of their own destiny, not listening to a liberal tell them they should hold onto their old 2 dollar 50 cent per month income. You probably think people need to preserve their old culture and get ahead in life at the same time.

What you're missing is that the immigrants who are successful here are successful precisely because they left their old culture behind and embraced OUR culture.

Well, maybe not your culture, but mine...

Some of the movies on the list are funnier, but Bad Santa really is one of the funniest movies ever.

Looking for spoilers, are ya?

The Big Lebowski or Planes, Trains and Automobiles is the funniest movie ever (I can never decide which one) but I did love this movie, until the end of course.

Ok list. Still Bad Santa is my fave but then I find social satire the best kind.
Examples Office Space (JA dentist scene a classic), Tootsie, The Hangover and Overboard.
From another era the W.C. Fields films and those of its caliber up to Some Like It Hot (never gets dated).

My Cousin Vinny!!!

I have to agree with some of the other posters, Bad Santa is NOT the funniest movie. Some of the more hilarious films have already been listed above so there's no need to repeat.

Honestly, I never understood the appeal of Bad Santa. The jokes are lame, the characters are unlikeable and nearly unwatchable, the story drags on and the entire film just seems tediously unnecessary.

reply

Bad Santa is very funny an instant classic. Certainly in my top 10 Comedies .

'Vacation' is my number 1 all time Comedy, 'Get Him to the Greek' is a recent instant classic comedy i rate fairly high as well .

reply

Nope.

Bad Santa is in the top 10. I would put Blazing Saddles...Young Frankenstein and The Big Lebowski right up there with it. Dr. Strangelove...Fish Called Wanda and It's A Mad,Mad,Mad World are there as well. Hard to pick the funniest since they all bring something different to the equation but Bad Santa is my favorite holiday movie by far...it always brings tears to my eyes!!

Any other movie. Schindler's List is funnier than this.

reply

I can think of movies that are about on par with this. Planes, Trains, and Automobiles and Christmas Vacation for instance, but none that are funnier.

reply

Bad Santa is funny as hell, but nothing cracks me up like Spinal Tap

reply

I *beep* love bad santa with a passion, but I can name one funnier movie. The Big Lebowski.
