This was the pioneer of Indonesian teen movies. Sad, but true, any other teen movies after this one have been abysmal, sad, miserable, and pathetic.

shareIm Indonesian and i've seen this movie for like seven or eight times and i've never got bored of it. You know why? it's because this movie is absolutely NOT like any other boring Indonesian movies. AADC is a really deep and realistic movie, unlike any others. For example, in most of Indonesian movies, the main characters are always rich, posh and perfect, but in AADC, the main characters are just some people who are not perfect and who are trying to live their own lives. Well yeah Im agree with you that Mengejar Matahari is a good movie but I like AADC better.
sharefirst of all i think this movie is fun and entertaining, but is it a realistic and deep movie? , well you gotta open your eyes alice your not in wonderland, metaphorically "MEANING" and "SPEAKING".

AADC and Mengejar Matahari were directed by Rudy Soedjarwo. He is one of the best director in Indonesia, though Garin Nugroho is still much better then him. Rudi direct most of teen movies, while Garin more to social and documentary films.
I like both movies, AADC and Mengejar Matahari are good, but i think if one of you have seen these Rudi's movies, other movies directed by him are relatively have the same quality.
There are still a few good director in Indonesia, so if you wanna make comparison, it would be better to compare the movies with same director. Because that's what I do
