Increasingly Weary of Michael Wilbon

I'm a long time fan of PTI, but Wilbon needs to recognize his real place in the world of sports. He adds nothing to the excitement of sports. He's the just a hanger-on. He's so quick to call someone out for his or her perceived bad behavior -- like Chad Johnson -- who if I were him, I'd NEVER visit the PTI set again. He's such an obvious patsy when it comes to Tiger Woods and Charles Barkley. Heaven forbid he gives an honest assessment of them. He's so quick to call something "JUNK" the NFL draft or preseason. PEOPLE LIKE IT Michael. Get over yourself. It's like he has no concept of the fact the just reports and commentates. He's not the newsmaker. He's just another guy with an opinion.

He speaks as if he's the absolute authority on "how to be." But he's to "scary" to give a real opinion when a few big names are involved until the whole world jumps on the bandwagon (e.g. Lebron James) What a fraud.

He has really become a big time "jock-sniffer." He's also a total shill for the NBA. But I'll give Tony credit for sometimes calling him out on that.

Michael Wilbon is part of a bad trend in sports journalism where they'd rather be best friends with the top players than be hard hitting or truly objective. His opinions on LeBron James have been nothing short of embarrassing.

reply

i think i now despise him. he's BEYOND full of himself. yes. despise.

reply

he's not a fan of the steelers. 
