Here's a bit of blurb to go with that I had in emails sent to me...

Hi,

many thanks for your email registering your interest in the Star Fleet soundtrack CD. I am delighted to inform you that the CD will be released on Monday the 7th December. We are now accepting pre-orders (see details below).

The recording has been completely remastered, and while that's a term that's used quite freely, we really mean it! The original source recordings were baked (a process for restoring recordings from original magnetic media) before digital transfer. Once the digital transfer was made, Paul spent a long time creating the stereo mix, correcting any midi timing and pitch issues, additionally replacing and enhancing any elements that were needed. As Paul has detailed in his liner notes, this was quite a labour. Once this was completed, the whole recording was sent to Alberto Parodi for final mixdown and EQ'ing. Alberto is based in Italy, and has a very impressive client list, not only in the music world but cinema, theatre, live recordings and mastering for domestic formats including DVD and Blu-ray.

Whilst we knew these treatments would push up the price, the end result was well worth it - it sounds fantastic, headphone listening recommended!

The CD has a 16 page full colour booklet including liner notes from Paul himself, a short foreword from Louis Elman and extensive notes on the series history by Chris Bentley.

It's a 13 track CD, completely remastered with the incidental cues compiled into episodic suites, running to 51 minutes.

I bought a copy a few months ago, and it is just as good as I remembered. there were far more incidental pieces than I remembered. Just transferred it to my MP3 player (I think my colleagues wonder why I type away on the computer in a 'drum beat style')!
