I loved the first half of the series, hated the second.

Kazuma is one of the coolest characters I've ever seen, and I'm not just talking about anime here. He had so much intensity, I've never seen a character like that. I loved Ryuho as the villain. It was like Ryuho had everything, all the advantages, the good life and all that, while Kazuma had to start from the bottom and fight his way to the top, a real underdog. I thought Kazuma would kill Ryuho, well at least that's what I hoped for, but well, you know what happens...

That's what drew me to the show. The intensity of Kazuma's character, made the series so addicting to watch. I don't know. I guess it wouldn't have been practical to have Ryuho be that dark of a villain, since his human side is built up from the first episode. I watched Trigun, Bebop and Wolf's Rain before this, so I guess I was hoping for a darker storyline. I thought the fights during the second half of the series were terrible too. They were so exaggerated, and I felt like I was watching DBZ.
