Cougar is my favorite character in the series, anyone else feel the same?

I have no clue...I was hoping someone would explain that to me, but someone posted that his alter controlled time, or speed not completely sure, so he delayed his death for a while. That kind of makes sense to me, so maybe that is why he didn't die right away.

I know it's a cartoon, but that doesn't make it less sad. (Ok, it wasn't tragic, but still.) If a character you like in a movie dies you get upset. And I'm still upset. But not as upset as I was a couple months ago.

I know! I'm so happy! But I did miss some of the episodes while I was on vacation, and my dvr malfunctioned and didn't record anything anyway.

Cougar's had pretty much face time in the last few episodes... He was helping "Meanori" research what was happening to the native alters and there was the flashback when his hair was brown and he was talking to a much younger Kazuma.
By the way, what happened to him anyway? Used to be friends with Kazuma, had brown hair. Now he doesn't remember Kazuma too well.

I thought it had something to do with his alter (his hair, I mean), and I think he remembers Kazuma, just not that well. Maybe that has to do with his alter, too.

Well, there's a theory...But there could be some minor spoilers...or alot..whatever you choose...
Straight Cougar was a powerful alter user. He was sent to the mainland and he got redefined to make him even stronger. He also say the other side, alos increasing his power, but there is a big drawback...
Due to being refined and such, his life span was cut dramatically shorter than what the average person's life span was. That's why he does everything so fast, so he won't miss out on life...
It' very possible that he could've just fallen asleep, but maybe when Mujo did his absorbition thing, it sort've ticked him down? Either way, I still love SC...he friggin rocks.

You know how in YuYu Hackusho when the main characture used his life energy to defeat that one bad guy in the tower, and he used his "life energy" i think thats what cougar did, since the girl was in danger he used his life energy in order to save her even though he knew it would be at the risk of his life, so he did it so then she could live on, if you think im wrong its all good it just what i thought of when i watched the show

Read all the posts before posting but yeah he probably is one of the favorites in the anime. He is straight forward with everything he does, it's part of his charm and I never noticed him not know Kazuma it's just he was away for so long it looked like he was surprised to see him.
Yeah when his hand fell from the seat you would have to already know he died. Sucked but he lasted a lot longer then what thought he would had being you already knew he had to be on borrowed time after Mujo's beating on him.
