This vs. Paradise Lost vs. Making a Murderer

This film is very similar to the miniseries "Making a Murderer" and to the documentary trilogy "Paradise Lost." I liked the Paradise Lost trilogy most of all, but perhaps that's just because I saw it first.

This was a really well-made movie telling an important story, but I was not nearly as moved, since I feel like I've heard the same story over and over again (which I guess is an indictment of our country's justice system).

I think the main difference was that we knew what the verdict should be and expected it by the time the film had finished. It wasn't so much a mystery as much as it was an exposition of the negative consequences of poor investigative/police work and how unreliable a witness can be.
