I actually thought this was from the '50s or '60s

It never occurred to me when I saw some clips of it on You Tube, until I spotted a comment saying it was 2001. I like to check out these spoofs, and I've found many on that site. Now we know why the monster looks so utterly fake: obviously it's low-budget, but on top of that, it's a spoof of low-budget movies.

Sound quality should (well, I shouldn't say should, but you know) have given it away; bassy and with no distortion whatsoever. You might have watched it on your phone though for all I know, or elsewhere where it would be hard to tell.

Incidentally, that's the one thing keeping me from watching this. When you go to such length to make a spoof like this, why not crunch the audio?

Sad story. You got a smoke?

Even though this one is a spoof, I like these type of retro films in black and white. Those that don't add any contemporary film ideas into the production.

I love this movie, it may be my favorite movie ever made for pocket change!

And one of the reasons I love it is that it gets so many period details right. LOVE Animala's beatnik look!
