At the "Hey Now" song performance she didn't seem able to dance. All she did was move her (then) fat tooshie side to side!!!
sharei know, i don't think i've seen one step that paolo taught her used in the actual performance. but i also kept in mind that hilary (lizzie) was singing live, and it's hard to dance and sing live at the same time... especially someone who barely sings in front of people or who has never done it before.
sharei thought she did fine. remember that it was her first time singing in front of anyone, let alone thousands of people. At least she moved around and didn't just stand there

If you meant Lizzie, her dancing is way better than it shoulda have been - given the circumstances. But then, it's a movie and that's what dreams are made of...
I was actually disappointed when I freeze framed the DVD on the "What Dreams Are Made Of" sequence and I realized that Hilary is only in that for the close ups! She didn't do one single step of dancing!!! Look for yourself. It's all a different girl. The dance steps were so stupidly simple anyone could have done them. That was the best part of the film and I love the song, but I was truly disappointed when I found that Hilary didn't do any of the dancing.

Well I think she need Paolo for some of the steps so since she was by herself I guess she did whatever she wanted to.

A lot of people seem to forget something about this movie: When Hilary shot it she was A LOT younger. Even actors are minors and minors can only do so many hours of work. That's why, in the last few scenes her double does a lot more. The studio simply wasn't allowed to let her do more. Sure, a lot of us were disapointed, but that's simply the way it is. As a minor she simply couldn't put as many hours into it as other actors could.
