I wonder if it would've been better if Miranda was in it?

What do you guys think? I mean, she had such a big part in the show. Something was definetely missing without her.

You can't have a horror movie without stupid people. Well, you can, but it'd be extremely short.

I think it was pretty good, either way it would've been good

sooo mcuh better.

I would have looooved to have Miranda in it, but then I donĀ“t think Lizzie and Kate would end up as friends. Because the script needed Lizzie to have a female friend, so she could talk about her feelings about Gordo!

reply

i think so

reply

Nah. =] I liked that it focued more on Lizzie and Gordo's relationship. =]

without miranda, i kept forgetting it was the same lizzie mcguire from the tv show. i thought it was just a movie without a link to the tv show. i think miranda might have made that connection. why did she not do the movie? i heard rumours of doing 'something personal' and then i heard about a drug bust, but i duno if that's real or not.

yeah this movie barely made any connection except for names and relationships.
they really should have put miranda in it.tho idk how they would use her.the whole thing could have been different cuz im sure they wouldnt change the KATE thing to miranda.making miranda her roommate.kates part was kinda small so if miranda got it it would have been like wtf?doesnt the best friend get more?
know what i mean?

Surprisingly, I thought the movie did just fine without her. Obviously, fans would have loved to have her be part of it, but Lizzie's storyline was so all-consuming, you almost didn't even notice that Miranda was absent from it. It's usually a disaster when a main character ducks out of a sequel or a film based on a TV show, but in this case, it seemed to work.

if Miranda was in it, the plot would probably have to be so different.

I actually thought the movie benefited from Miranda not being there. My only complaint is that she didn't complete more episodes in the series. Like randomly in the last 5-6 episodes or so, Miranda is on vacation. I'm not really sure what was going on with the actress, besides that she wanted to pursue a music career. But investing nearly two years in something and not finishing it seems odd. At least Lizzie McGuire was consistent in saying Miranda was in Mexico.

I didn't mind that Miranda wasn't there. I think she just would've been another person in Lizzie's ear warning her about Paolo, which would've diluted Gordo's concerns. Also I agree about Kate's redemption. If Miranda was there, I doubt Kate would've helped her. So I was happy with the resolution of both Kate's meanness towards Lizzie, and Lizzie finally taking notice of Gordo.

-Who is it?
-It's Grandpa. And it sounds like he's gotten into the horseradish again.

i think the movie did fine without her, i didnt even notice she wasnt there. At least gordo was there. i liked it anyway, werent that fussed on miranda anyway

Exactly. This movie abandoned all the settings/plotlines of the show, so it felt like nothing more than a generic Hilary Duff movie.
But adding Miranda to the movie wouldn't have changed that. It would have still abandoned all the settings/plotlines and would have still felt like nothing more than a generic Hilary Duff movie... just with Miranda in it.

This is a really late response, but the girl who played Miranda was in New Zealand filming another Disney Channel movie at the time.

Oh! Well 3 years later I guess I finally find out the truth :) Haha, thanks.

I think it helped with the fact that they could focus more on Lizzie and Gordo's relationship. Plus things would of unfolded a lot different if Miranda was there. The only thing that bugged me was the fact they never called each other or even texted haha. It was like Oh shes with her family in Mexico no need to tell my best friend I'm rendezvousing with a italian popstar and pretending to be his popstar girlfriend.

Larry wasn't in it either.

International calls are expensive. Unless you buy a temporary international plan for your cell phone, you need a calling card just to not get slammed with ridiculously expensive charges. I went to Italy & Greece in 2006 and even then (3 years after this film was made) I only called my parents in Chicago once and had to use a calling card.

Lizzie was only in Italy for 2 weeks... she could fill Miranda in when she got home.

Holy Crap! I just watched this flick this past weekend and totally forgot about Miranda....

Well, that answers that question - It was ok w/out her....

However, Thinking back to 2000 during the series when it was airing Live, I remember Miranda was an character that helped the show be more complete.

It is the year 2005. The Decepticons have conquered the Autobots home planet of Cybertron.
