Question for the ladies...(May contain SPOILERS)

Kate Hudson and Naomi Watts were a great "sister" team. I thought the movie was a wonderful change from typical american romantic comedies. (I believe this film a remake of a french film.)

I loved the cinematography and camera work. Everyone compliments movie casts and directors...I would just like to take a second to pay homage to the crew! They did an amazing job, and captured the essence of Paris, french food and french style!

(For the ladies) The movie is worth seeing for Naomi Watt's and especially Kate Hudson's fantastic wardrobe alone!

I'm only 21, but personally if a hadsome, powerful, well-respected man like "Uncle Edgar" (the older gentlemen Hudson's character had an affair with) approached me, I would have found him VERY hard to resist.

QUESTIONS:

1)What would you have done if a handsome married french man persued you?
Would you have endulged in the affair even if you knew it could lead to no
good?

2) Who did you find more attractive in the film?
A)There was the character, I think his name was Steve or Eve? (He was the
other guy Isabell (Hudson) was sleeping with)
B) Uncle Edgar, the handsome, worldly, adulterous 50-something french man.
C) Or The young, cheating, french artist husband of Roxy (Watts)

3)Who's and what outfit did you like best?

I think I would have flirted with Uncle Edgar, but wouldn't have slept with him.

I thought he was also the most appealing of all the men in the movie, despite his scandalous, womanizing nature.

I loved the outfit Hudson wore right after the american husband approached her and took her umbrella. What she was wearing is kind of hard to explain. It was like a grey coat with black floral design around the edges, and 2 coat tails with flowers on them hanging from behind. See the movie if you don't know what I'm talking about. It's a GORGEOUS outfit!

Im only 21 too, but i soooo would have fallen for Edgar!
I agree this movie was fantastic, i really dont understand why people didnt like it, i guess its for people who love all things french. Naomi watts was FANTASTIC in this, and i just looovvvee her voice.
ANyway here are my answers to your question
1.Yes totally, especially if he was rich...lol. On a serious note though, the affair could be a good thing as you would learn so much (just like isabel did) about french society etc.
2. seriously i think they were all equally hot. Steve/eve has that cool independant spirit thing going for him (my fave line was where he talked about helping out the refugees that "sexy uncle edgar wants to blow up")
Edgar, well hes a suave sexy rich older frenchman. whats not to love?
Charles-Henri has just got the HOTTEST face :)
3. I love the outfit Kate wears to the cafe (when they give charles-Henri his contacts back). Its just so cute, and suits her prefectly. Oh and I just love her hair in that scene where shes helping olivia out, and they talk about french women and their scarves.

I would have fallen for Edgar in a second. I would just take the relationship for what it was. Something fun, not really romantic, with a few perks like a Hermes purse. I mean, you're in Paris and someone wants to have a noncommital brief relationship with gifts like that-no strings attached. That's amazing if you ask me.

I was very turned on by Yve. I would chose him for a relationship and have Edgar as my lover.

My favorite outfit was what Kate Hudson was wearing when the family went out for lunch together.

1) yeeeeeeeeeees i would indulge in the affair...its not the smartest choice but it would seem like tons of fun...i know it sounds incredibly shallow but that man was gorgeous...i am so glad you guys think so too!!! who wouldn't sleep with him??!!

2) the cheating husband was cute but his personality just made him seem like a real ass...EDGAR is my pick!!!

3) i'm not sure about the outfits...i don't remember much but naomi watts had a really classy style in the film so i liked that...

Actually I thought the hottest guy in the movie was the divorce lawyer. He had sex appeal.

I loved the movie, and the book it was based on. But, I don't mind slow plots. The only thing that bugged me--weird Russian chick's voice. What was that about?

I had the same thought about the divorce lawyer. I just watched the Brit. mini Love in a Cold Climate with Samuel Labarthe who plays Antoine dePersand in this movie. I havent't seen LD in a long time but was he the lawyer in this movie?

reply

Yes, the divorce lawyer was played by the beautiful Jean-Marc Barr. I've loved since I first saw him in "Hope and Glory", playing a French-Canadian WWII soldier.

Yves was also very good looking, in a scruffy, bohemian way.

I just realized that, while Uncle Edgar is attractive and worldly, he's probably my age. Yikes!

reply

Watching the Simpsons (dubbed in french) with Yves in a small paris appartement seems perfect to me! But maybe Yves is just one side of the french male. The other gentlemen in the movie are the other sides.
Yves is definetely infatuation material!

yves was so hot .. him and kate hudson were the best part of the movie

1) I'd definitely consider Uncle Edgar. If only for the bag.
2) Attractive looks wise - Roxy's cheating husband. Attractive personality wise - Steve/Eve/Whatever.
3) I don't remember specific outfits, but I agree that a lot of the fashion was awesome.

It's a close call between Uncle Edgar and Yves. I find them both equally animal and sexy and confident. Honestly if it were 10 years ago I would definitely go for Yves... but as a 35 year old woman with more experience and high expectations in terms of the things I do on dates, I'd let the worldly sophisticated Edgar wine and dine me and give me gifts and, in general, make me feel fancy. :P

Roxy's husband did zilch for me. Way too effeminate and generally dull. No animal to him. No sex appeal. I admit he's pretty, but he's simply not manly enough.

And I gotta agree about the lawyer! Another sexy guy!

reply

The lawyer was pretty hot now that I think about it...I just didn't like his teeth for some reason.

1) I would have gone for the affair for the bag on one hand, for the fun and hey... the guy WAS only related by marriage!

2) I definately think the lawyer guy was the sexiest by far but if I had to choose between those three it would have to be Yves because he was funny and quirky

3) I definately agree with the original poster on the outfits: that jacket that Kate Hudson wore with the little coat tails was adorable. Also I LOVED Kate Hudsons hair in the beginning of the movie, long and curly like that. I hated when she cut it but it was back to normal by the end.
