Not only does it feature Jordan Ladd who appears in Inland Empire, but it makes several references to the film, itself, including the watches. It all seems too big of a coincidence not to correlate.

This definitely ties into Inland Empire. The whole cigarette burn in silk, and like you said, the watches.
It makes sense given the way Inland Empire came about.
Oh, wow, I never even thought of that. Inland Empire had so many parts that I can't remember a lot of it specifically. I wonder how long Lynch is going to continue with his digital video making, because he seems to like it. The only problem is that it doesn't always work. Like the part with the two girls talking worked well with it but the part with the Asian looking woman didn't. It was the same with Inland Empire. If he stays with digital, I hope he polishes it a little more. But both Darkened Room and Inland Empire were still very good.
