Jet Li Upset Over Kelly Hu's Death

Do you think Jet Li was upset over Kelly Hu's death? During the fight scene between Jet Li and Kelly Hu, Jet Li didn't really fight aggressively with her. He was prepared to let Kelly Hu shoot him than to beat her up.

When Gabrielle Union took over, she killed her.

Jet Li's character could have never killed her, either due to the fact she was a female or just too attractive. Another woman obviously killed her in order to put her in her place.
