Well, this film, that stangely enough only has a 4.1 on IMDb continues its streak of acclaim elsewhere. It has just received four nominations for the Independent Spirit Awards. (They are considered the low-budget film Oscars and are very prestigious in the indie film world) It's up for:

Best First Feature

Best First Screenplay

Best Supporting Male

Best Debut Performance

I just watched the ISA's (which I taped over two weeks ago), and I found that Rodney Evans looks a lot like the boy (Ameet Chana) who played Parminder Nagra's best friend in Bend it Like Beckham.
