What happened to the relationship between Perry and Jim? Was it pretty much over? Im surprised the movie didnt focus a little on that oh well. Also why was Perry mad? I mean was he really expecting to find a bf. I mean he came on to Jim. I bet Jim was str8 between Perry came on to him.

I just watched the movie as well,almost a year after you. What i gathered from the scene is that initially he was mad at Jim about the whole "sweet black ass" comment because he felt that Jim wanted to use him for his Mandingo fantasy. Yet it then seems he gets over it by defending Jim in front of his friend.
I think what ended the relationship is that Jim was first coming into this whole gay thing,and Perry had already been it for awhile. He was past the experimenting stage, the going out,ect... he was just looking for someone to settle down with and complete him, and he knew that at that point Jim wasn't ready for that. That is what i gathered from their post-sex conversation.
I don't see that what Jim said was so bad. What's wrong with liking your partner's skin color? You can like his ass, but not the color of his ass? I'm white, and I was with a black guy once who called me "white boy." I wasn't offended. I just figured he's was into white guys. Why not? Most people date within their own race, so there must be plenty of black guys who like Perry's black ass and wouldn't be into Jim's white ass at all. This is just turns somebody on, it doesn't have to be a political matter or a slave/master fantasty or an unequal power relationship or anything else. It's just what you find physically attractive.
