The guy seems to use the phrase cock sucker in every conversation on the show even though he is gay. I imagine he does that to hide his sexuality. It is an interesting part of his character.

Also in season 2 I think it was. When Daniels goes to Rawls telling him he wants McNulty on the case Rawls says " jeez when I said you could have anything I meant have a kiss, feel my tits" lol Rawls was probably serious.

If a guy is at a gay bar, then he is gay, period! Straight guys would have absolutely zero interest in frequenting a gay bar. Women going to a lesbian bar is completely different.

Besides the confirmation that we got in interviews from David Simon, here's the thing...
Can a straight man go into a gay bar? Yes, of course. But in a movie or a television show, EVERYTHING you see is significant. Everything. And they don't put set up a scene in a gay bar, put an major character on the call sheet, costume him, and put him in the shot for a surprising "reveal" unless they're giving the audience information. So, whether or not someone can be in a gay bar without being gay IN REAL LIFE is completely irrelevant.

I'm a little surprised that with all the enemies Rawls has made, none of them figured it out and tried to use it on him.
Hell, Landsman KNEW Rawls was gay. In Season 1 when he's talking to Rawls to get McNulty back at homicide and out of trouble, he starts off with this story of him masturbating to get Rawls' attention.
I am not so sure that I agree with that. I just happened to have watched that scene last night.
IMO, beginning a convo with that story would get anyone's attention. I don't see what Rawls being gay has anything to do with it at all.
I agree Landsman may have known but I'm 99% certain did not have that in mind when he walked into his office and opened his yap.
