I know I can't be the only one who would like to see this series put on DVD! Especially if they could release hour long, uncensored "Directors Cuts" of the first 2 seasons episodes. I'd really like to see some of the outtakes...
The only problem is that much of what isn't shown (according to the book) would put the Food Network in something of a bad light. Much drinking and drug use, food poisoning (and a joke by the cameraman), things like that.
I went to a book signing back in October of 2005 when he was touring his "Les Halles Cookbook" and someone in the audience asked if he thought they would ever release A Cook's Tour on DVD. He said that based on what he's heard, it would never see the light of day. I'm glad they're still showing it on Food TV, albeit late in the evening. With Tivo and a DVD Recorder, I'm able to collect the entire 2 seasons, one by one.
So you say you have all the episodes? Do you have the "One night in Bangkok" taped? Plz i really need a recipe from that episode if you'd be kind enuf to help !!!!
Too bad Tony didn't have more control on his end product. I wonder if he has enough cash to buy them episodes from Food Network or does he even want to?
