A Cook's Tour now available on DVD

Just bought the entire series in a 6 DVD set - all 35 episodes for $19.99 at Target.

It's currently being distributed by Questar Entertainment http://questarentertainment.com but it appears that the series is being picked up by other distribution houses soon.

Video quality is OK, not great. If you have an up-convert DVD player or a Blu-Ray player that up-converts DVD, it should look pretty decent on your LCD or LED screen.

Yeah I picked it up at Target, too. The 6th disc has a defect. Eating on the Mekong is listed but they seemed to have copied it correctly. Wild Delicacies has been copied twice. I thought it was a flaw on my set but I went and exchanged that for another but it's the same.

I also hate it that they did a re-mix. So if a person who knever seen the run will be confused when they're talking about cobra on disc one and you won't see it until disc 6. At least 90% of the show is on the discs.

Questar is aware of the problem and has replacement discs ready to go. Simply call them at 312-266-9400 to arrange it. As for me, I kind of like that the episodes are sorted by region, to be honest I'm mainly going to watch the last two discs because they contain most of my favorite episodes from the series.

It's only a movie

Yes, I used the "contact us" form on the website about 2 weeks ago, and they were blazingly fast in getting out a corrected disc to me!

And while I'd still prefer them to be in the correct order, it doesn't bother me that much...you can always find an episode guide online if you want to go that route...
