Guest Stars

Does anybody remember how fun it was when Sonny and Cher were on the show...In the 70's or The Harlem Globe Trotters? I can't remember all the guest stars, but those were always my favorite Scooby Doo episodes.

"The New Scooby-Doo Movies" was the name of the series. Other guests included Don Knotts, Tim Conway, Sandy Duncan, Mama Cass Elliot, Phyllis Diller, Jonathan Winters, Dick Van Dyke, The Addams Family, Davy Jones, Jerry Reed, Laurel & Hardy, the 3 Stooges, Batman & Robin and fellow Hanna-Barbera cartoon characters Jeannie & Babu, Speed Buggy and Josie and the Pussycats.

My sole criticism of "What's New, Scooby-Doo?" is their use of guest-stars. Instead of pursuing well-known stars, they esoterically cast sports figures and bands -- KISS being the only WNSD guest-stars who were really well-known... and only Paul Stanley had a spoken line of dialogue (KISS were rather synthetically injected into the plot). Oh yeah, and one of the guys from n'sync was in the Valentine's episode; can't think of his name, which sorta sums it up. The last special to air before this series, "Night of the Living Doo," had David Cross and Gary Coleman, which got my hopes up for other well-known celebs in WNSD... but they never got any. I'm certain there are tons of people with household names who would have loved to have appeared in the show.

I'm just having a hard time with David Cross as a "well-known celebrity".

Gamefaqs has a far worse population than IMDB
