A Thief Movie?

There are rumors going around that a Thief movie bought by Time-Warner is in production and set to come out in 2007. Can anyone confirm this? Can anyone tell me anyone's name who's involved in production?

Thanks so much

They should do a movie. It would be a smart move as long as the writing was good. Someone should consider doing a movie based on "Myth" as well.

I don't know, I thought the best thing about Thief was that the story developed as you passed each stage. It was much more immersive than a movie based on the story could be. I'll admit though it would be cool to see Garett sneaking around, pulling off smoother moves than his avatar could manage with me at the controls.

Mind you, if there was a film, and it was done true to the game, played well, you wouldn't see anything of interest, just darkness, and stuff going missing/dead.

True, only after the first act had reached it's conclusion and the second began would we discover the necessary clues: the tell-tale glimmer from a discarded mechan-o-optic surveying device, the rapidly decomposing shaft protruding from a patch of moss, the stack of groaning lump-headed berks tucked neatly into the shadowy nook beneath a dripping sconce.

There was news a while back that Thief-TheCircle.com made mention of from the Holiday '03 issue of PCGamer USA:
Eidos is also revving up a possible Thief movie starring Tobey McGuire [of the movie Spiderman]; it's been linked to Mark Gordon, producer of Saving Private Ryan and The Patriot.
If only there was some way to get attention focused on creating a Thief film project. I haven't heard any new info though.

if tobey mcguire plays as garrett ill go mad. i saw a picture of the voice actor for garrett and i can tell you: he looks quite similar to garrett, he can play garrett in the movie.
