what do you mean , it was too hard to follow ? it is very easy, simple plot

of course, everyone has different ideas/views to movies they watch,

this is my understanding, and im satisfied with it.

basically, Angela went to Japan for the reasons (as plot said, etc), what she discovered regarding the missing girl was only her thoughts,
she did not know that missing girl was treated like a queen (because of the incident with scissors), in fact the missing girl was treated so well that she decided not to leave that place. (i.e. she is been "missing" by the police and her mates perhaps)
So, Angela was rather "over-reacting" to herself, I believe, not because she was curious girl, but rather, that she was in entirely new place, different culture environment that made her mind very nervous all the time. In fact during the film, scenes what Angela thought of "bad guys" (Old rich man, the guy who let her stay) were not bad at all, they were, maybe irritating Angela by taking her business ID that she found, asking her about the drawings, etc, were not meant to hide anything, but they were rather amazed by her manga-style artistic and wanted to give her some goodness for it, (which in the end her boyfriend traded with money, happy ending)

personally, I did do not want to give anything higher than 7/10 for story-line,
There could be much more story plots, e.g. film was too short, nothing really bad/twist happens (well she smoked weed and cigs).
however. people have "certain" taste in the movie, e.g. some people want to give more score (or biased) for certian things that fits them. So I give 10/10.
for me, the Actress was really cute and pretty looking, and she was very different from what people loves on Holiwoods movie stars (which I hate). and her non-enlgish accent makes attractive even more.

cheers

Any movie can be hard to follow. It has a lot to do with the person and circunstances.

She imagined a story, where she imagined a story which was nothing but her imagination, which was nothing but her imagination.

My opinion?

Best insomniac's movie ever.

My opinion?

The biggest load of pubescent self indulgence that I have ever seen. Anyone who finds this film of any value needs their head kicked in.

What astounds me is that people spent money on this.

I gotta say, I'm suprised at such a sweeping and unfounded dismissal of what I thought was a good film.

Are you trying to say that the movie was gratuitous? It wasn't, and if you'd been to Roppongi, you'd know that. Besides - the "industry" and the environment that kept it going, and the reactions of the victims within it, was exactly the point.

So, you think I need my head kicked in because I got it and you didn't? That's absurd.

If you don't know anything about the movie or what it was trying to do or say, and if you didn't enjoy it, that's one thing. But dressing up your ignorance as high moral ground is pathetic. Same for you extremely silly head-kicking remark.

THANK YOU SEAN-X. If ya can't hack it, don't watch indie films. Sometimes beauty in film-making comes with a price. Get some taste and some manners. Go watch some more mainstream movies where people get their heads kicked in, huh? Those are easy to understand.
