This movie is definitely funny, and it has guts to poke fun in all kinds of 'politically-incorrect' things, phenomenon and people.
Some of you might've seen a censored version (such en edition exists, and it's appalling that people can't let any movie just be what it originally was), and that might've been much less funny, as the 'inappropriate' or 'edgy' stuff was cut out, or changed into something diluted.
Make sure you see the unedited, original version that hasn't been censored or cut differently, where jokes haven't been replaced, etc., and make sure you understand all the jokes.
This is still not -that- funny a movie, but it's very entertaining, it has good and very DARING jokes (which is a breath of fresh air, especially nowadays), even some subtle ones sometimes.
It does make me laugh out loud, due to unexpected situtations - for example, "Now, who the F did that?!" ..I would really like to know the answer to that question, heh.
This kind of 'daring comedies' are the only movies, where women are shown as incompetent buffoons and really, really stupid and clueless sometimes. Anna Faris is always a fun entity to watch and listen to, and she plays this 'bimbo' character very well.
I think she pulls off similar deadpan humor as Leslie Nielsen - she can say ridiculous or really 'provocative' things in a serious and clueless manner, while the audience understands the double meaning or how weird it all is.
I think all Scary Movie movies (from 1 to 4 anyway) are pretty darn good, except maybe the second one - it doesn't have that many good jokes, too many repeated things (although the butler is funny), and the ghost isn't funny, scary or interesting, and the ending is a bit weird.
I think three and four are on a similar level, the first is the best (it's brilliant), the second is the only 'lackluster' one that doesn't try hard enough, and it also feels more limited, even in scope, as it all happens in a small place.
