The carbonated alcoholic drink he was slamming?

I guess it was seltzer or some other type of soda water mixed with what?

And what is the purpose slamming it besides making it foam up? Does that introduce the liquor into your bloodstream faster? Effervescence and all.

I will be honest, that popped into my head but it was not Sparks.

At least... I do not think so. I cannot even remember how he was served the drink at the bar now (having watched it whenever I first posted), but it was supposed to be in the 80s to 90s time period, so I am doubting that.

Not to mention, I swear it was tequila with maybe soda water. Tequila Slammers seemed to be the ticket, but when it really comes down to it -- I just don't know.

Or was it Sparks in some tequila?
