Alright.. I'm 15, and so obviously I don't usually watch movies like this. My mother rented the DVD out from the video store, and the DVD player is in my room so I was forced to watch it with her one saturday night. I thought it would be a really boring poorly-done second-rate movie, boy was I wrong. I'm suprised this movie isn't more popular - it's a wonderful light-hearted comedy and I loved every minute of it. It reminded me of the movie 'The Shawshank Redemption' in some ways, with the themes of wanting to be free and independent.

So anyway enough talk.. if anyone ever reads this, I really hope you see this movie. This is a very underrated movie, and I'd really like to see others out there see it and enjoy it as much as I did.

My husband was a spark on this film (he's actually in the background when she does the TV interview) I read the script before I saw it and both times I laughed. I'm older than you, but not by much, and I still got the need for freedom and dignity thing. Shame it went straight to video!!!

I loved this movie too. I think Pauline Collins is a wonderful actress and really enjoyed her in my other favourite, Shirley Valentine.
