This movie sure did get its geography wrong a lot. In Europe the entire time they are driving in the snow they are on the opposite side, also the steering wheel is set up like an American Car. Now, even if they did somehow get to drive an American Car in Europe, why are they on the opposite side of the road?
They were not in England at any point..they were in France at the point you are referring to...same as America, left hand drive.

Yeah, it's only Commonwealth nations (except Canada I think) that drives on the same side as the Queen, which is mainly India, Australia and Hong Kong now.

There a many counntries that drive on the left, icluding those that have never been Commonwealth countries, like Japan, Thailand, Indonesia and the whole bottom half of Africa (OK some of them are Commonwealth countries but certainly not all. Other ones that are Commonwealth include Malaysia, Singapore, Nepal, Bhangladesh etc. So actually lots and lots of places do. Here is a link to a great article about its historical context
