Glad ppl were able 2 see away from the racist/etc

Was sort of worried that this movie would be misunderstood due to it's stereo typed characterization and Betty White playing off this great role as the racist neighbor.

I'm mixed puerto rican/black and had no issues with any of that. My only issue was Steve Martin and Queen's over acting. Him when he was playing his part in the club (reminded me of his SNL days) and Queen when she was trying to teach Steve's character how to treat his wife. The whole jumping on top of him on the couch was hillarious but seems like they perhaps had to do that scene over and over. You can catch a glimpse of her about to burst out into a laugh.

To me, this seemed as if it were playing off of stereotypes that may have been around since before the Willises came around on "The Jeffersons". It seemed to be more like a Seventies movies than a recent one.
