Someone typing for her in prison? He's turning her in?

Love the film, just a couple of quick questions... If anyone can answer them, I'd greatly appreciate it.

1) Peter states that he believes Charlene had someone typing to him for her while she was in prison, but Charlene later states that all she did was read law books in prison, and that the books helped her to convince him. "All I did in there was read law books, made you think I was a lawyer." So, I was just curious as to which was the case. I suppose she could have even started typing to him after she escaped from prison?

2) There are a few scenes in the film where Peter threatens to "turn her in" after he's already agreed to let Charlene stay with him and help her with her case. Since he's already agreed to help her, and he's under the assumption that she's been released from prison, what exactly would he be turning her in for? It's one thing to write jokes into the dialogue, but they should make sense with the flow of the story... :-/

Idk, I think the movie is enjoyable.. I own it. There are just a few select moments where it seems the writing may have gotten a bit sloppy or muddled.

1. When she first shows up she acts as stereotypically ghetto as possible, for comedic effect. So Peter just doesn’t believe that she can be the same person that he was talking to. In the scene that you already referenced, she shows that she can clean it up and speak proper English, she just chooses not to.
