Need to release this on DVD

The show wasn't the greatest, but I'd still love to own this on DVD.

I completely agree, give us an official release!

Start a campaign, Fox know they *beep* up and they always cave in if they can make money from a show.

I grew up in the 80's and all of the pop culture and music from that era just took me back to that time period all over again. If this does get a official release, I don't want it looking like WKRP in Cincinnati on dvd all over again.

(For those of you who don't know what this show was, it about a radio station called WKRP in Cincinnati (1978–1982), which is an American situation comedy that featured the misadventures of the staff of a struggling radio station in Cincinnati, Ohio. The show was created by Hugh Wilson and was based upon his experiences working in advertising as a client of a classic album-oriented rock radio station.)

On a side note, production on a WKRP DVD was delayed for years because of the expense of procuring music licenses. It was feared that fans would reject edited versions. The DVD release of WKRP in Cincinnati - Season One has much of the music replaced by generic substitutes. In addition, some scenes have been cut or truncated and voice overs used to avoid using unlicensed musical content.

I just hope they are able to license all of the 80's music that was featured in the show, because I have have seen a few shows that were changed on dvd from when I first saw them on tv.

The dvd is a must have.

I liked this show and I understand FOX felt it was a flop, but yeah it needs a DVD release if for nothing else to complete the collection.

And this is exactly why That '80s Show's producers said that it would probably never make it to DVD. The cost of the music rights would be too expensive.

I really despise this whole music rights issue. Over the years, more DVD sets have been released in almost unwatchable condition for those that originally enjoyed the show. Even the producers of Freaks & Geeks were hesitant to spend the million or so to get that show released unaltered. In their case it paid off big time.

I'd love for That '80s Show to be released but I honestly don't see it happening.

Same here. The short lived series Birds of Prey had "Revolution" by Aimee Allen as the theme song and it was epic and suited the show. I decided to buy the DVD set and there is some slow song that doesn't go with the tone of the show at all.

I'd buy it for Chyler Leigh if nothing else.

Summer Glau can simply walk into Mordor..
