Let's Hunt the Sting Ray down

Justice needs to be served, come on man, this is the dude who fought with big ass crocks and aligators, battled with bears and snakes, and he gets killed by some coward ass sting ray, we need to hunt and destroy this menace.

reply

Don't do that! The Stingray is a beautiful creature to me, it was just an accident, the Sting Ray was only protecting itself probably, we can't extinct a creature for defending. It was a sad tragety, but lets not take it out on the creature.

I'm a 14 year old hormone-crazed teenager and I'm proud! lol

reply

It was a battle of epic proportions indeed, but I cannot rest until steve's soul is avenged.

reply

Well.....I guess it's your decision, but i think it's wrong.

I'm a 14 year old hormone-crazed teenager and I'm proud! lol

reply

It killed him! Don't take the side of the beast, it was an unjustice cause.

I like my coffee the same way I like my women...........strong......black......and proud.

reply

It was Animal Insticts! The Sting Ray didn't know he was a famous TV star with a family and millions of fans. I may have liked Steve and his show, but I also love the Earth and the creatures that were created with it, I mean, come on, killing off an enitire species just for defending itself?

I'm a 14 year old hormone-crazed teenager and I'm proud! lol

reply

No, i didn't mean the entire species, I meant that evil menace that killed steve, just that one.

I like my coffee the same way I like my women...........strong......black......and proud.

reply

well, okay I guess if you mean that one stingray, that migth be okay, sorry, I misunderstood you. It's going to be hard to find that one Sting Ray tho, they all look identical in a way.

I'm a 14 year old hormone-crazed teenager and I'm proud! lol

reply

ANd if not murder, at least three consecutive life sentences.

I like my coffee the same way I like my women...........strong......black......and proud.

reply

Life sentances? You want to throw a stingray in jail?

I'm a 14 year old hormone-crazed teenager and I'm proud! lol

reply

No, I'd much rather murder it, but if people find that unethical then prison is a fine option, as long as it is miserable.

I like my coffee the same way I like my women...........strong......black......and proud.

reply

You don't honestly think that torturing and killing an animal for defending itself against a perceived threat is any way to honor a man whose mission in life was to save animals, do you?

reply

You See? This is why it's impossible to give animals "freedom" and let them have the same rights as humans do; we will eventually run out of jails to put the animals in. Stupid PETA.

Even though the Sting Ray hurt Steve, He wouldn't hurt the see creature! Like everytime he got hurt on some animals he did nothing about it.He is not an animal ABUSER!That's what's great about him!

reply

It'd be impossible to find the exact stingray.

If I were to nuke the exact coordinates of the location of the attack...

would the Stingray have moved far enough away by now?

Would You Like To Know More?

Good luck finding the exact sting ray that killed him.

reply

Just what I was thinking. (I sincerely hope this whole let's-hunt-down-a-single-stingray thing is facitious).

From what I understand Steve knew he would die by some creature eventually and he DID die doing just what he was doing---interacting with dangerous animals.

So it was a sting ray instead of a snake or a crocodile. It could've been a kangaroo on a bad day for Pete's sake!

Dead is dead, and that's it.

reply

If you really believe that, then you have completely missed the point of Steve's work.

reply

Completely agree with you skin.

reply

RIP Croc Hunter

reply

I'd say Steve died of natural reasons.. when it comes to him a natural death would involve being eaten or killed by a croc or something poisonous

reply

Steve deserved an epic battle with a crock, not some coward sting ray.

I'm booking a flight to Australia, I'm going to find the damnable stingray and blow it out of the water.

Usually the term "coward" is appilied to a bully, who picks on someone weaker &/or smaller. The mousy little stingray-it could be said-"succeeded" where the burly robust crocs "failed". You can't be a coward for picking on something bigger as well as smaller. That's like saying it would have been OK if a croc killed him & not a stingray. That the croc would be less culpable. As for the "celebrity card", should a hunter who shot a doe get prosecuted if it turned out to be Bambi's mom?
Was Erwin handling & "playing" with it or was it a surprise encounter, like most accidents involving stingrays? If it was the latter, that would make it really ironic.

I'd like to see a movie called "The Stingray Hunter" where you chase down the sting ray and punch it in the heart. Then it stings you and... uh, you die. Maybe you should just forget about it.

reply

The sting ray is a coward because it was a cheap shot attack.

Stingrays weigh about 200 pounds in Australia. Crikey, nothing like those little wimpy stingrays found off Florida.

Doing the crocodile roll in the middle of the river..."

Sorry, obscure Aussie folk reference. Your post reminded me of that.

Great, just tell me how do you plan to find the sting ray down, you have to look at the video tape. And maybe they all look about the same. And also tell me how to you plan to hunbt doiwn the sting ray down, without it killing you to, if it could kill Steve Irwin, it could kill me or you too, but I not going to put my life in my hands, by tracking down the sting ray that killed him.

And remember South Park fans, tugyalater7 sucks, and he will always will suck.

Starting a troll thread about a man's death is about as low as I've ever seen.

reply

No way, this is not a troll thread, you have no idea how depressed his death made me man, it really came as a shock and I won't feel any closure until I know that bastard sting ray is dead.

I like my coffee the same way I like my women...........strong......black......and proud.

reply

they killed the stingray after Steve lost was unconscious

reply

I highly doubt that. Haven't you ever listened to what Steve said about animals who instinctively attack when threatened? The sting ray was just being a sting ray. There was no maliciousness involved in its actions. While my thoughts also turned to wiping that sting ray off the face of the earth, I don't think Steve or anyone associated with him would do such a thing. I've been very disturbed over Steve's death. The world lost a very great man. He will be remembered for a very long time.

Why do today what can be put off until tomorrow?

reply

Hahahah, you hate animals, but you like Steve.

reply

Steve Erwin jumped on the backs of crocodiles, & could have been in the habit of assuming he was safe when he was on or above the animal's back. With a stingray, that's the worst place to be. I'm sure Steve knew this intellectually, but sometimes force of habit can bypass intellect in a kneejerk situation. I think guarding oneself against the habit of generalizing is the best safety procedure, & being ready to adapt to the exception would do much better than added stingray protection.

reply

I liked him too. He was a hero of mine. I can care less about stingrays. But trying to make what I think of Steve a moral fine point to put on something that acted out of God given impulse would be wrong. Like Starbuck said to Capt. Ahab in Moby Dick, "To be enraged at a dumb brute for what he did out of blind instinct is blasphemy."

This whole thread seems to be a case of rooting for the underdog turned upside down. The admission that Steve was the overdog, & the stingray was the underdog being used as a basis for calling the stingray a coward proves the fallacy of using the evenness of the playing field as a mandate for justifying self defense. The idea that the stingray had to fight fair-whatever THAT means-despite having an overwhelmingly unfair disadvantage, is the ultimate in eletism. If a lowly stingray doesn't have the same right to live as a human being, why should if have more in the way of responsibilty to watch how it defends itself? It's wrong to even put that obligation even on a human!

reply

OK, now you people are just getting rediculous. First, I think you should be ashamed of yourselves for listening to rumors and carrying on that Steve was riding the back of the stingray. It was nothing more than a freak accident. Let Steve rest in peace and give his family some respect for Steve's death is still a very raw point in their lives.

Why do today what can be put off until tomorrow?

reply

I hope we will continue his work instead of killing it, lets continue his fight for animal conservation. Steve will live in our memories, peace to you mate.

reply

Let's leave the poor creatures alone. Everyone's upset about Steve's death, but anyone who knows anything about him knows that he wouldn't want us to attack the stingrays on his behalf.

When life gives you lemons, trade them for rocks and find an enemy.

R.I.P. Steve Irwin

reply

I also think, that he wouldn't let them kill (and he wouldn't want that we mutilade this animals for retaliation...)!

I think everybody know, that stingrays only attack, when someone come to near...

R.I.P. Mr. Irwin

reply

if steve is watching this he would be so ticked off at you guys. he wouldn't want the animal killed because it was self defence. infact your an idiot just thinking you could hunt it down.

Happy endings are for optimists.

reply

EXACTLY.

It wasn't the poor stingray's fault, Steve probably accidentally touched it or
got too close to it or something, the stingray's instinct would be to automatically
defend itself...plus, Steve would NOT want anyone to go "hunt down" that stingray
or any other (by the way, according to online news, apparently some people
DID go hunt down stingrays...sigh)...not ONLY is that sort of thing NOT
"avenging his soul" at ALL, it is disrespectful to his memory, not to mention
disrespectful to his grieving family.

If you want to do something to help, then post here or at Animal Planet's
website or elsewhere online that you're sad or angry or whatever that it
happened, but NOT that you want to go "hunt down" the stingray...and/or you
could make a donation to Steve's memorial fund (at Animal Planet's website)...
and/or do something, anything, to help/be kind^_^ to animals, any animals,
anywhere (it doesn't have to be a stingray...you could be kind^_^ to a dog
or a cat or something like that! ^_^).

(Okay, I guess it's okay to post that you WANT to go hunt down the stingray
if that's how you feel...but could some of you please quit saying how we ALL
SHOULD go hunt it down or something?)

Steve and Terri, their kids Bindi and Bob, and all Steve's friends/mates
would NOT want you or anyone to go "hunt down" that stingray or any other
to "avenge" him...they would want you to be kind^_^ to all^_^ animals to honor^_^
him...if you don't believe me, you can go read some of the TONS of stuff that's
all over the Internet about that kind of thing at the moment!

"True blue" (like the Australian song) means "true Australian" if you're an Australian...
but it ALSO means (pretty much everywhere) truly loyal/noble/good/etc., which
I assume is a lot of WHY it means "true Australian" in Australia!

It is not "true blue" or true/good/noble ANYthing to get "revenge" on something
that was just defending itself. Especially if the person whose death you want to
avenge was a wildlife conservationist. (Okay, maybe technically the animals
should know better than to attack him in that case, but bear in mind that they're
ANIMALS, they follow their instincts and such!!!) Revenge is stupid/cruel/etc.
anyway and "vengeance begets nothing but a vicious circle of further vengeance"
(Gargoyles [animated series, 1990's]). Let's NOT go hunt ANYthing down...
Steve would NOT want us to!!! We should be kind^_^ to animals in his memory,
NOT decide to hate/attack them in his memory!!! (True loyalty/kindness/goodness/etc.
tends to include FORGIVENESS...and besides...it was an ANIMAL...not a human
murderer or drunken driver or terrorist bomber or something [we should also
forgive deliberately-attacking humans, but it CAN be more difficult!].)

Vengeance/revenge is NOT "true blue"!
