Seymour from Ghost World

I will suggest that Seymour from Ghost World (played by Steve Buscemi)is almost the same character as Harvey Pekar.

As Ghost World is inspired by a graphic novel, they writer/director had to be aware of American Splendor. Perhaps it could be said that Seymour was inspired by or an homage to Harvey Pekar.

True, but on that note, there are a LOT of Seymour's out there.
Go visit any vintage record store, or now a days a game shop.

Yep. Or comic book shop?

Who knows, maybe Seymour actually represented the writer of the comic/graphic novel Ghost World, just as American Splendor represented Harvey Pekar's real life.

He reminded me a lot of Seymour too.

Fun fact: Robert Crumb did some of the drawings from Enid's sketchbook in the film.
