I watched this film again and observed something subtle that I missed the first time.

When Harvey learns over the phone that he has testicluar cancer, his pet black cat crosses his path almost to the second he hears of the info.

A nice subtle touch that I have to assume was intentionally put in by the director.

If you listen to the DVD commentary they go into detail about the cat.

"There is a difference between a "movie" and a film."

The cat walks across his lap when he notices the lump too. Good use of visual symbolism.
