People took this show seriously?

I have to laugh hysterically at all the old comments here.

Usually they start off normal. "OMG so pissed at the Cliffhanger!" Yeah, that sucked, I'd love to see this awesome show continued--

"JOAN AND ABE BELONG TOGETHER NOW WE'LL NEVER KNOW!"

"THERE WAS SOME DEEPER MEANING, JUST LIKE HIGH SCHOOL WE FIND OUT OUR TRUE LOVE WAY TOO LATE!"

"CLEO IS SUCH A BEE-YOTCH OOOH MAN I'M SO GLAD ABE WISED UP!"

...wow. I don't mean to be rude, but if you seriously had this sort of response to "Clone High", you are extremely gullible/naive. It's PARODY. Everything the show ever did was a satire on uber-dramatic teen shows of the day that squarely focused on the relationships on the egotistical, narcissistic characters who were always beautiful and sexy. The theme song even beats you over the head with it. ("Our angst is entertaining...") Lawrence, Miller and Lord never cared for where the square/triangle between Joan/Abe/Cleo/JFK went, instead manipulating every terrible cliche in the book to maximize humor. You know those Scudworth plots? The Ghandi plots? Those existed and were totally off in tangents for a reason, to give writers/audience a way to relax from the heavy high school parody from clogging the humor/momentum up too much.

Nothing on this show is serious. It never was. It was making fun of those kind of shows, and especially the audiences who take those kind of shows super seriously. It'd be like being in suspense during a Mel Brooks movie.

Most likely the second season after some meta-wink of unfreezing them would've been filled with more cliches such as Abe is "heart-broken" by Joan and "furious" with JFK, probably exploiting the will they/won't they trope to as much as possible. Meanwhile, Scudworth and Mr. B would be up to something wacky along with Ghandi. This isn't a slight against the show at all, so don't take that the wrong way. The formula works, it's very clever writing, but nothing at all is meant to be taken seriously. In fact, these are one of those rare shows to lack any genuine moments, as parody should. Even shows like "The Simpsons", "Family Guy" and "Futurama" which are generally wacky all have had plenty of serious moments. (or at least attempts)

You have the right to be a fangirl/fanboy. Feel free to be excited by your show, but when you can't see that the show's creators are laughing at you for taking it seriously... then I feel pity.

Don't be a jackass.

It's a problem that people were really into the show?

"Frank, you disgust me. You disgust everyone, and you will never EVER be on that billboard."

I got the feeling this thread was going to be about the Gandhi controversy, guessed wrong.

I have an unbelievably long ignore list.
