I can't believe...

This board is empty! Barbapapa was seen by millions throughout the world well into the 80s. Granted, this was back in '83 or '84 when I saw it and I only have vague recollections, but you can't forget the odd cartoon about a family of blobs who would morph into different things. Interesting concept for a kids' show.

And I can't believe Barbapapa isn't available on DVD yet. What a wonderful, unique, creative and sunny show!

Barbapapa is one of my favourite cartoons of all time. I still have all the books my mother bought me when I was a kid, and thanks to places like ebay, I have been able to collect even more over the years (dolls, figurines, keychains, drinking glasses, christmas ornaments, etc etc).

Apparently there are DVD's of the show in Japanese, French and I think Dutch or German. There has not been an English pressing yet, but I hope someday there will be.

Lastly, if anyone is ever in Quebec City (Canada) there is a store there called "Imaginaire" that sells a lot of Barbapapa collectibles, imported from Europe. They have a site.. just search for Barbapapa http://www.imaginaire.com/indexv2.jsp?langue=en
