The brother didn't jump and kill himself?

I have no idea why i saw the retarded brother jumped from the tower at one scene and suddenly, a mocked funeral of his at the end and he jumped out from the closet? what did i miss here?

reply

The funeral at the end was for the grandfather.

When we see the brother jump from the tower, it's left ambiguous as to whether he jumped to his death or leapt onto the crane. The point is that we believe for a moment that he has died, before we see him a minute or so later and realize that he jumped to safety, not to death.

When the boy jumps from the tower, I don't think that he jumped for the crane, but he was saved by the fire-rescue squad (they had just pulled up moments before). This is not shown, but I thought that while the boy and the cop were talking, they were able to setup some kind of net, and when he jumped, they caught him. If he jumped for the crane, it would have been in the shot, and it wasn't.
