Peter Stormare

He should be listed in the casting list..

reply

Yeah, I thought I recognized his voice :)

reply

Yup, Tech Strauss :-)

reply

The only reason I came to these boards was to confirm that. Thanks.

reply

Yeah me too... His voice can be recognized everywhere...

reply

He is listed in the credits in the booklet you get with the game.

"Deal with it. Rock and Roll"

reply

I never read the manuals... At least not for Quake games... Will check it out later.

reply

I expected to hear "Lewbowski" from him. :)

Seriously, he did the best voice acting job in the game. I loved his attitude of always needing more marines to protect him while he did his job, because he's more important than everyone else, to be really entertaining.

reply

Is that his natural accent? He sounds the same everywhere... I thought he's Swiss, why does he sound almost Russian?

reply

he's actually swedish, and no, that's not his natural accent. :)

reply

Swedish eh? Is that the land of Chocolate? And he was in the movie Chocolat... Hmm...

If it's not his natural accent, how come he sounds so similar in every movie? Chocolat, the Nick Cage movie, and this? He even sounds the same playing a nerdy scientist in Tuxedo...

reply

That's his typecasted accent. Or it's his real accent. Does anyone know of any movies or recordings where he uses his real voice, if this is not.

Lady, I'm afraid I'm gonna have to ask you to leave the store.

reply

You should see HAMILTON. There he speaks with a more american accent since he plays a Swedish Military Agent. (And he was trained by the CIA.)
It's a good movie, but I suggest you see the original with Swedish voices and real english conversation. (I have seen the dubbed one that was entirely in English, but it wasn't as fun as the original.)

Swedish version with English subs. ;)

reply

Oh please. :P

Why are people always mixing up Sweden with Swizerland?

Swizerland is the land with the alps, the cucoo-clocks, the chocolate, the cheese and the funny leder-hosen.

Sweden is the land of the Nobel-price, the ball-bearings, and IKEA. ;P

reply

> Swizerland is the land with the alps, the cucoo-clocks, the chocolate, the cheese and the funny leder-hosen.

that was a joke, right?
alsp, chocolate and chesse is correct (and don't forget the banks/money *gg*).
switzerland is also fameous for _wrist_watches.
but cucoo-clocks and leder-hosen are a part of german/bavarian culture.

reply

Jesus Christ, where are you from? You can't be from Europe, 'cause if you don't know difference between Sweeden and Switzerland (that's land of chocolate).

reply

Fargo; thats his best movie, heheh. he doesnt say much but he doesnt use a russian accent or similar accents. (btw he is credited in the game)

reply

I played and played and I kept thinking "Man this Strauss sounds alot like Peter Stormare." then to my pleasant surprise I checked out IMDB to confirm my suspicion.
