Phillip Bartlett

I totally missed him, watching this I realized how much Phillip Bartlett suited Mewtwo back in the first movie. I mean...Dan Green is a good voice actor and all, but his voice just does NOT suit Mewtwo, Entei yes, Mewtwo...no.

I also felt that Dan Green was sort of trying to upstage Phillip Bartlett because he repeated the exact same line said by Phillip from the first movie in the prologue, why they didn't just reuse the soundclip Phillip made is beyond me. I mean they used Ted Lewis' old Giovanni sound clip...I was kind of pissed off at that...especially since Dan's performance was inferior to Phillip's.

But Dan Green isn't a bad actor, it's just that in terms of Mewtwo, I think Phillip Bartlett did a better job at voicing him. I guess I can be happy though that he voiced Mewtwo in his origin. But without Phillip Bartlett, Mewtwo Returns felt a little peculiar, and a little empty.

Then again even if Phillip did return to voice Mewtwo in Mewtwo Returns, the genetic pokemon would probably still be a complete pansy in this film. (I mean I know the whole message was to not fight...but pokemon fight all the time, come on man, at least defend yourself from Giovanni, use some psychic powers to scare him off...do SOMETHING!)

I apologize to any Dan Green fans if I pissed you off, I just had to get this out, and it's just my opinion anyways, plus I did like Dan Green's performance as Entei and Mephiles (even though the game he starred in sucked.)

I think Dan should've altered his voice more. I was very confused when I watched a Yu-Gi-Oh! episode, and kept thinking of Mewtwo everytime Yami spoke...

Ben Grimm forever!

Yeah, that's the problem I have with Dan Green, most of his characters sound exactly the same...while there are a few exceptions I think he should alter his voice for other roles more often, for I too do not notice any difference between his voicework for Yami Yugi and Mewtwo.
